Yeah there’s a big difference between ‘recyclable’ and whether it actually gets recycled at the refuse depot. The sorting lines are geared up specifically for separating plastic bottles, glass, cans and paper, which are easy to separate. The bulk of recyclable waste gets recycled, but anything which is too difficult to separate (e.g. mixed material waste) gets sent off to landfill. Splitting open used coffee pods and removing the dead coffee is too much, I don’t think it’s done.
