I wear it with a short sleeve merino baselayer and it’s limiting factor is only ever overheating. Don’t think I’ve ever got too cold while wearing it whereas I’ve wished I was in something lighter a few times.

My bad. I meant it’s lack-of ability to dissipate heat.
Never found that an issue myself. With just a baselayer underneath I've always found it easy to shed heat with a PTJ -just undo the zip. The front is windproof but the back isn't, which to me is its real charm.

My bad. I meant it’s lack-of ability to dissipate heat. Which (if better) it’d be a bit more useful to me (particularly if you can get two soft layers underneath).
