Commentary mentioned those, defo better than zip. Magnets I still reckon would be better option, I have used this gillet with extra magnet sleeves for many years and can't see why the same might not work as a front fastener.

Just noticed it's a sprint stage in the Vuelta today too. It will be quite nice to just watch the 4 min highlights on youtube for a change. The last few weeks has been a heavy work load and i'm thankful for this extra rest day.

Maybe they're concerned with the weight of the magnets over zip. But when you look at yesterday's wobbles and flapping jackets that difference is almost certainly nullified.

I think magnets and heart rate monitors don't play well together?

I couldn’t work out why both sunweb riders didn’t just stop and zip up properly at the summit having failed before hand. It would have cost them about 10 seconds.
