I used to have a velcro rain jacket. I guess they're not as tight fitting and a bit bulkier (much like me).

Commentary mentioned those, defo better than zip. Magnets I still reckon would be better option, I have used this gillet with extra magnet sleeves for many years and can't see why the same might not work as a front fastener.

Maybe they're concerned with the weight of the magnets over zip. But when you look at yesterday's wobbles and flapping jackets that difference is almost certainly nullified.
