Instead of splashing out on some headphones I ended up getting a £25 Bluetooth transmitter so I can listen to vinyl on my (very good) earbuds. I’ve got it connected to the “tape out” red/white phono on the back of a 90s amp, which sends it raw, and from a ProJect II turntable sounds unbelievable – if it’s a good pressing. Doesn’t half expose bad pressings that I hadn’t noticed before though.
Sub-£100 headphones for listening to records at home. Is open-back THAT much better sounding, and will the noise wake up my family after they go to bed? Will a cable make it sound noticeably better compared to Bluetooth? And should I consider just getting a Bluetooth transmitter that sends from my amp to my earbuds?
Any help appreciated. I’ve done some thread searching but there’s not been much for quite a few years.
