Well, since you've mentioned the cartridge type of bb design (ie not an external type), I assume you'd want the splined tool, as this fits most cartridge types unless it's Campag and a few others. And I was talking about the tool for dealing with extraction/fitting the bottom bracket- you mentioned about dealing with a square design but for this it sounds like you're talking about the square taper of the bottom bracket axle, and then we're really discussing the tools for chainset removal, not bottom bracket tools. Although I'm sure I can help with this also.
