  • Went and did a few reps of Swains Lane this morning at nats race pace - very helpful prep. Also practiced some one-handed clipped in starts, also very useful.

    For anyone racing the Nationals, the starting post is like this photo. Key things I learnt today are:

    • If you have the time and a steep hill / path / whatever close to you, go practice
    • Right foot at 2 o'clock as you'd expect, easiest gear
    • Sit right on the very nose of the saddle, let go, grab bars and pedal. The nose of the saddle thing is not something I would have discovered without testing it out
