What is it with curved top tubes? Guaranteed to make a bike look fugly.

Help with cyclocross surely?
Plus those have limited tyres clearance don’t they.

The Crockett is the best bang for buck cx frame out there.

Help with cyclocross surely?
Can't really see how it would help. For shouldering the bike you want the front triangle to be as large as possible, preferably with a straight horizontal top tube so you don't end up twatting your shoulder with the frame every time you, well, shoulder it.

You always end clutching the frame angled forward anyways, a slight sloping tube won't make a difference. A curved TT should help to stop the bike sliding on the shoulder .

Have the old-cx-bike-as-a-gravel-bike plans been canned again?

Looking to replace stock arkose fork with something that has fork mounts.
Was close to just going for the Brother fork.
https://www.brothercycles.com/shop/forks/brother-carbon-gravel-fork/
Or as I'm currently a furlough scrounger take a punt on something from AliExpress - managed to find something from Ican which looks suitable but hoping someone had a tried and tested model they can recommend with minimal chances of losing teeth?

fork mounts.
To clarify, mudguard, rack, caged, etc?
Advise against aliexpress no matter how good the price is.
If you want massive carrying capacity; Surly Midnight Special fork.

Mounts for fitting anything cages is the end goal for carrying bulky light items. Mudguard mounts would be a nice to have considering the current fork allows them.
I had hoped there was some reputable brands on there but others had used / trusted. Having never bought anything from there before I'm a bit clueless.

Fyxation is OK and good value. Mine has taken some beating in normal gravel usage, haven't particularly pushed it whilst loaded yet though.

The Sparta fork? I did look at that one but would ideally like to keep 45mm+ tyres. I essentially want my cake, and to eat it whilst not paying that much for it.
Also found this one which looks decent enough.

If there's such thing, what's the forum-approved-nogravel-beik under 1000 EUR? I'll probably end up going used anyways, but still curious. I'd mostly use it on tarmac I reckon (and maybe on some dirt roads if they cross my path), so 650B and extra plush tyres aren't a necessity.

Btwin if you can get availability.

Cheers, I thought Decathlon bikes were generally frowned upon here for some reason. Their pricing seem to be reasonable for what I've seen, although I'm not that happy with their colour options.
I had a Sora-equipped B'twin road model 10-ish years ago, and it was atrocious in every single aspect except for the frameset, which was actually quite great. -

I imagine once the weather gets a bit worse, there'll be plenty of hardly used bikes for sale that were bought during the first lockdown.
Christ. That is fugly.
