Thanks all.
The main issue was that the drugs to treat his heart failure would have meant that he couldn't have had his arthritis painkillers. If it wasn't for his joint pain we would have brought him home for a bit longer but sadly wasn't to be.
Our dog is devastated today! Running around the house looking for Fabric :(
