  • Nice one! I like the Hope highlights too

  • Would have gone for the yellow frame as well, but found this on offer at <£500 so I went for it. Paint is a bit delicate though, already plenty of scratches after one ride! lol

  • You soon learn to ignore the scratches

  • Oh yeah, don't worry, not precious at all! I just hate when things are new and the first few ones stand out more than when the whole thing is scratched

  • Will the HH NYD race be on this time round?

  • Not sure but the London league have announced some dates for this year on the FB site
    https://m.facebook.com/groups/ldnandsecyclocross/?ref=group_header&view=group

  • Looking to replace the brake cables in my (rim brake) Singlecross, does anybody have any experience with Clarks Zero-G? I found it here in Poland for less than half price of Jagwire Road Pro. I would like to have some decent-working cantis (Tektro CR720), but not sure if paying twice as much for Jagwire will be worth it.

  • Jagwire is always money well spent in my experience. But Shimano Optislick is also good stuff but cheaper

  • Anyone got a link to watch Tabor?

  • Eurosport. £20 for an annual subscription atm.

  • Thanks, I have Eurosport 1 & 2 with Virgin though so don't really want to pay for the app as well. Ended up watching a hooky feed in Spanish which was pretty good in the end.

  • Where did you find that?

  • finally finished this bike, but something awful happened.

yesterday's race was high up on the lancs/yorks border and had a downhill start. we came barrelling out of the grid for 100m or so into a gentle right hander. i feathered the brakes to slow down, but nothing was happening. in fact, i was picking up speed. i leaned into the turn but to no avail and tore through the course tape. great start.

i slammed hard on the brakes to stop the bike and get myself back, but still there came no apparent signs of slowing down. i sailed off away from the course, past the sign-on tent and through the courtyard of the visitors' centre at a cool 22mph.

it was all i could do to deftly steer through the car park and seamlessly join the A59 towards colne, accelerating all the while while yanking as hard as i could on my sram500/TRP spyre combo.

as i type this, i've just hurtled past milton keynes. i've been on the move solidly since 2:45 yesterday afternoon. i expect the only way i can stop this bike will be to crash it into the english channel.

    amey was right!

  • maybe you should send it towards a local bike shop?

  • Nice, this must be the most expensive and ineffective sscx bike out there!

  • Unlucky, you must be thinking about this and the chain of other races between Yorkshire and Milton Keynes you could’ve won if you were good at leaning.

  • At this rate it's just my fitness, woeful bike handling, and shoddy attitude towards sporting competition that's keeping me.off the podium

  • But not a lack of brake modulation.

  • Having to bend down and wipe my rotors with isopropyl alcohol every couple.of minutes is proving difficult.

  • amey was right!

Trust me, no1 wants this. Not me. Not my wife.

  • I have no idea what. Talking about, but pads. What pads are in these brakes?

I've had no braking before at frylands with v brakes. That was lozzles.

  • Narrator: For those who are not intimate with London League courses, the Frylands course is located on a wooded hillside with some very steep descents.
