If you are just a hobbyist buy alkylated ready mix 2 stroke. It doesn’t go off like normal petrol. It’s more expensive but isn’t full of so much nasty shit, smells much less offensive and you can leave it in the tank without needing additional preservative.
If you are mixing 2 stroke yourself use unleaded.

My new chainsaw instructions are a bit vague on petrol - seems I can use either leaded or unleaded. So presumably I should go for unleaded? (which is what the car uses, so there will be synergies there)
