• What's the current go-to option for turn-by-turn road cycling navigation?
    Don't really need power / heart rate etc, I just want to be able to find the way without using my phone.

    If there is an option that allows you to choose destinations on the fly (like a sat nav) then so much the better.

  • I bought a Garmin 530 purely for navigation. I don't even like to look at how many miles I have left or god forbid my speed. Screen stays on the map with TBT navigation permanently.

    I like it. Got really tired of the phone and powerbank setup. Plus it looks hideous.

  • I agree about phone and powerbank not being the most elegant solution. I guess that's really the crux of why I'd prefer a dedicated device.

    Presuming with the 530 you upload the route before you leave and then just follow it TBT?
    Is there much scope to change the plan halfway through the day... like randomly deciding to head somewhere completely different instead, or making a detour to check things out en route? (sorry if these are stupid questions btw!)
