I also have an 800, had an 810 have a 1000, have one of their car Garmins and had a Vista HCx.
Edge units are best for cycling. Bigger the better for me because I tend to do lots of rerouting on-screen. Phone can be a backup normally. etrex only comes out for races.

When you say rerouting on-screen, does that mean you can change your destination as the day progresses? This is more or less the dream for me when I'm touring (I use paper maps like a luddite).
Btw, are you the guy that does the transcontinental race every year? I think Scherrit was telling me about you the other week. Either that or you have shares in Garmin.

Which of those Garmins (if any) is best suited to my needs?
Or should I get all of the above... y'know, just to be sure? I wouldn't want to get lost now.
