They might actually be good for cycling. Haven’t tried them on yet, but they might make for a decent pair of shorts

Looking at a pair of Unbranded UB301s. Any reason I shouldn't buy?
Any fit tips also gratefully received. I'm between a 34 and 36 (so, yeah 35" waist) in most things, with a really short instep. Was gonna order the 36s.

I don’t know Unbranded for sizing but I found that as a 35” waist as well 36s have usually been a tad loose.

Which model? Looks like pretty good value for money if quality is good

Still flipping expensive!

These and even cheaper here: https://www.sofmilitary.co.uk/usn-red-selvage-denim-jeans-1930-s-us-navy-deck-jeans.html
New favourite summer jeans, decent quality and made in Thailand which I found unusual.

I just remembered you mentioning them as something you aspired to. I managed to get a pair of black jeans and a belt.

I had a pair of 101s in 34 and found them tighter than other brands. I didn't like the denim either. My son is pleased with them though.

Honestly don't mind the elastane in uniqlo selvedge, £35 and you can wear them on the bike. They are what they are really, pretty functional and though I realise the market is probably not solely 'guys who like selvedge and also cycling around a city to the pub', I have got two pairs (one black).

I’d say go for your usual size in selvedge, weird how most denim companies are so out of whack when it comes to waist sizing... I’m about a 32 waist but take a 30 in selvedge depending on who made them... I’ve tried on a pair of Unbranded in a 31 and they were a bit slack

Cheers all.

Thought these guys looked interesting and they’re kinda local to me (but I think the stuff is made in Thailand)

Do Uniqlo do black selvage? So long since I've bothered looking...
-
• #3667
They do but the cut isn’t great imo.
-
• #3668
yeah. I don't mind the cut, it's slim but not super skinny.

Just dig mine out. Forgot I’d demoted them to decorating clothes and they’re covered in paint.

Is there anywhere in South London with a decent selection of different jeans to try on? Not necessarily selvedge and not insanely pricey!

• #3671
TK Maxx is your friend... Not even joking...

Not a bad shout! Cheers.

Has anyone ordered anything from thosti.nyc? I placed an order on the 5th October and since have not been billed or any dispatch emails received, I tried emailing twice and both times emails have bounced back. A bit confused on what to do next.
-

I have.
Was about one and a half weeks before I emailed and asked about my order, they apologized and said there was some delay. My impression is that they're a small operation to begin with, and now with covid things will be even crazier. The bounce back thing is weird but rest assured they are real, I received what I ordered. Good quality stuff, though I had both pairs of trousers tapered a little. -

Ah I see, well its a waiting game now I hope the owner is well. Thanks for the heads up.
You'll try them on and think "no".
Then, deep midwinter, you'll have had a drink. You'll think "you know what? Fuck it".
Next thing you'll be wearing no socks, loafers, downing protein shakes and listening to bad house.
