That's really cool and my size, but etc. What wpuld one have to do with that rear fork?
-
• #1135
Expensive (Argos charge £250 for chroming a rear triangle). Not sure if it could be done without a re-paint but suspect not. Polish and clearcoat?
-
• #1136
Polish and clearcoat then.

It's gone already...
Rechroming is pretty expensive. And can't be done without first sanding the frame (they don't want paint residue in tbeir chroming tub...). -

Hi All,
I have been eyeing up a Somec Dynamic minimax on eBay.
Any one familiar with these - I was wondering about tyre clearances. I want to get 25c on there as minimum.
Cheers -

I'm not familiar with these in specific but I am with nineties road bikes in general. 25's as a minimum will be very tricky. My experience is that 25's are mostly a maximum (those days, we used to ride 21's most of the time, you know...). When riding 25's on some of my bikes, I first have to deflate them before I can get the rear wheel in.

Ha yes I hear you on that. Jamming 23c's onto nightmare tight mavic rims and nicking the tube with metal levers. Makes sense 25c is likely to be the max. I have emailed the seller.
I recall even 19c in the day. To think 32c now is not unusual on a road bike!

So I missed the Somec Dynamic Minimax going on eBay ... if anyone has a line on a 52-53cm Max frame it would be great to hear. cheers

That's bollocks. There's several Max frames on German Ebay but mostly 56 and larger.
-
• #1144
Yes I see there is a battaglin max on ebay.de 59cm so too big for me (and missing the original forks). Lovely panto though.

Please someone buy this, been thinking about it for weeks. But it can end up bad for my bank account at the moment

No bids for weeks. He is asking 400€ shipped if you want to buy it straight through PayPal.
@etcdaman 53 could be perfect for you since you missed the Somec

anybody got some max forks laying around? or recommendations for alternatives?
It's a Borga. Can't find much about the brand online. It appears to be an Italian bicycle shop, so it was probably built by another company / builder.
