Anyone who owns a ladder big enough?
Depends whether you need more than just taking it off and squirting a gob of sealant or expanding foam or whatever in the holes left behind.
If it needs repointing or bricks replacing then you need a brickie

My place has a whole variety of wires and pipes sticking out of the walls and roof. No idea what most of them are.

yeah that's my thinking as well. i'd rather go to town on a solution rather than doing the bare minimum... also i'm terrified of heights. shit me right up they do.

Looks like a good project. The possibilities for all kind of stuff really open up when you move beyond the standard L shaped terrace floor plan, I’m more than a bit jealous!

yeah, looks great imo. just takes a simple change of perspective to imagine a reconfiguration that will dramatically improve the usage of the space. looking forward to updates (and pics) once work starts/completes...
not sure how all of these instagram renovators can find the motivation/heart to live blog every step of their projects. found the whole process so tiring and bewildering, it's only now I'm getting round to pulling together some pics on progress/work done

cheers. have you got a 50 foot ladder?

My wife started making a photo book when we started our renovation, we are now on the 5th book...

Dunno why you’re scared of heights, they’re lovely. It’s falling off the ladder and smashing your head on the ground you should be scared of, not the height.

Decided today that I'd like more space in the bathroom so took the ceiling down and will board out the ceiling with the roof pitch (diagonally).
The extra headroom makes such a difference and should give me more space for a shower over bath.

That's a good move, we did the same in the last place makes a nice amount of difference. Are you having any rooflights fitted?

There were 5 separate wasps nests in that roof cavity
-
• #37246

I've told you before I don't really like Judas Priest and that stuff.
I had the same - try finding the end first, that often answers the question! If it's Sky/Phone it'll usually lead to a junction box outside somewhere you can pop open and remove it from.
