If you want a basher, print another one with a bit of a draft and vacuum form it. Fill it up with car body filler to stop it collapsing if you think a support structure won’t be strong enough.

anyone have experience of the XV-01 models?

4wd belt driven.
Tempted to get the pick up truck version and go fairly lairy on the motor

I have the XV-01 Lancia Delta Integrale, it's great. Just using the stock motor.

How difficult was it to build?

Previously I have made a Racing Fighter, is this any more complicated to build?

It took me roughly a day in between other things, it is pretty fiddly but manageable. It's actually my first Tamiya build so I can't really say how it compares to other kits.. You could have a look through the manual to get a better idea.
