i was referring to China and their perception of black people through US lens on their society, as referenced in the article.. not about britain. this is where Jo Malone got it wrong, or rather took Boyeda's ad and recrafted it for the Chinese market.
I was on a call years ago for a Sony ad and they were discussing what ethnicities could be
cast depending on which market the ad was going to run in. Black was the least popular
and definitely a no-no for all of Asia, only really acceptable in "western" countries.
The company and Boyega are British. Where does the american lens come into it?
