    I thought 25mm ply would be overkill - was thinking 18 or 22, but it looks ok there. @Thrustvector are those 25mm too? My alcove is 1.3m wide, and has a very similar relationship with the shelving on the adjacent wall at the moment... I am definitely leaning towards more twin-track. I'm thinking of full width shelves and 3 tracks at 50cm spacing. I'd prefer to go with 3 'bays' rather than 2 (for looks) but it seems a bit too close together. Would be getting the ply cut and delivered - I can't saw straight.
    @Fatberg - I used really hefty individual brackets to give extra support to a deep floating shelf and they've started to pull away from the wall, so I'm wary of that. Maybe I just hit a mortar joint but they are not staying in the (solid brick) wall :/

  • The bricks this place is built if dissolve into sand if you look at them too long. I used loooong screws on the brick bit. Metal Plasterboard fixings elsewhere. dIY thread >>>>>>>>
