All who's? EBC?

I remembered that when you replace a home button that it loses fingerprint functionality, I couldn't remember if simply disconnecting it had the same effect (which you need to do when replacing a battery).
Ah, sorry - I just realised I only ever replaced batteries on iPhones without TouchID / back when I wasn't ever using TouchID, so that never was an issue I came across 😅

Shimano.

For his MTB maybe, unless they're older postmount calipers.

I have lost the power supply for this
https://www.quzo.net/evo-e-u35fs-3-5-sata-usb-2-0-slim-external-hard-drive-enclosure-black-colour-pid33056.html
I know it's 12v DC, but no idea on what the current rating is. Will I fry my hard drive if I get it wrong? -

R785 uses G04S

12 volts are 12 volts, the device will take what current it needs, if your power supply can give 1000 amps it is of no consequence. If your power supply can give 0.0000001 amps it will not power the device.
I would look for something like a 12 volt 2 amp supply

If you use an underpowered PSU, there is a danger of the PSU self-protect cutting power just when the HD needs it most, which could lead to data corruption. Using a PSU with a higher current delivery capability than is needed does no harm. Power consumption for HDs is typically only a few Watts, so you're unlikely to need more than 1A

Really? I've seen packs marked up for XTR and Ultegra which confused me because they looked different enough I didn't think much of it. Are they basically the same 'pad' bit with just a little handle instead of the fins and shit? Any idea what the part number is for the metal/L04C version without fins?

I've got 785 levers but my calipers are flat mount - 805 I think?
-
• #104962
all shimano flat mount calipers use the same pad size
You could use:

without fins: K03S Resinhttps://www.bike24.com/p2142762.html

@freezing77 - thanks guys. Will buy a 5a and hope for the best!

K04s, K is the finless version of L pads, 04 is sintered (03 is newer resin) S is steel backed or as you're an obvious weight weeny K04ti. I think there's an XTR that uses this pad shape but most MTB and some older road use G or J, with older older stuff on B or A, 4 pot stuff is obviously different.

Really? I vaguely remember someone ordering J02/04 pads and it turned out the bike needed L, they wouldn’t fit.
Might be misremembering though.

L or K for flat mount.

There’s a version with cooling fins and another without. Whether you’ll notice the difference depends on your ride conditions.

j02 is not for flat mount

Fucksake. How long have they been available? I've spent the last 5 years paying for those fucking finned ones.
-
• #104970
Those ones are a different shape for their post-mount (not flat mount) calipers.
-
• #104971
They have been available as long as the flat mount brakes have.
-
• #104972
Even the Ti backed ones are cheaper than the finned ones. Argh. Thanks. I'll keep my eyes open for non-finned.
-
• #104973
How come they never came up when I was looking for replacement options? FFS I remember asking on here about alternative brake pads and even the after-market options weren't available yet.

That was 4 years ago, when I was obviously more concerned with getting the things to fit. But more recently than that I was asking about alternatives.

Why do you not want the fins? I quite like the aesthetic, and the technical reasoning (brakes hot - make not hot) seems reasonable.
Or G04S
