  • amazon is usually a bit naff for boardgames, it's one of the rare things they often overcharge for even vs brick and mortar shops. also there's a lot of non-english games listed with english covers. i'd always read the reviews and check the details product specs to see if a language is mentioned at all when buying on there.

can probably dig up a few recommendations for you with a bit more info though.

    number of players?
what kind of strategy are you after? area control, engine building, deck building etc
    any preferred themes?
    rough budget?

  • number of players?

Playable with 2 players would be great

No idea. My OH just doesn't like things that are pure chance.

    any preferred themes?

    No.

    rough budget?

Well I was hoping for a prime day deal so in the £20 region.

Alternatively at the other end I guess something like telestrations that could be played over Xmas with parents would be cool.

off the top of my head here's some of the ones which might tick some boxes for you (between £18 and £28)

    7 wonders duel
    pandemic

boardgameprices.co.uk will tell you where the cheapest prices are (mostly) but board-game.co.uk (zatu) are generally competitive on the price and have a decent service.
