  • Yep. It makes the bike much less likely to blow over in the parked position, and a lot easier to push as a trolley.

    A third-party mini rack does both of those thinks and is much cheaper and lighter. There are also weird double rear wheel options with no rack, but I've no experience with those.

    I have the standard rack on there, but thinking of maybe removing it. But not if it makes the bike a lot more impractical. It's just that I noticed a lot of Bromptons without it and was wondering why.

  • Marginally cheaper/lighter; I didn't go for the rack when I bought mine, and faintly regret it, but will probably get one of the aftermarket lightweight ones as and when I start needing to do lots of multimodal commuting again.
