Will I fry my hard drive if I get it wrong?
If you use an underpowered PSU, there is a danger of the PSU self-protect cutting power just when the HD needs it most, which could lead to data corruption. Using a PSU with a higher current delivery capability than is needed does no harm. Power consumption for HDs is typically only a few Watts, so you're unlikely to need more than 1A

I know it's 12v DC, but no idea on what the current rating is. Will I fry my hard drive if I get it wrong?
