Thanks anyway!
I see a lot of Bromptons without the rear rack. Is the consensus that it's not really needed for normal use? Does it not make folding harder?

Front luggage block is better for carrying stuff
-

I don't need to carry stuff (on the bike), but is the rear rack not useful for folding the bike? It sits on the rack when folding, right.

Yep. It makes the bike much less likely to blow over in the parked position, and a lot easier to push as a trolley.
A third-party mini rack does both of those thinks and is much cheaper and lighter. There are also weird double rear wheel options with no rack, but I've no experience with those.

I have the standard rack on there, but thinking of maybe removing it. But not if it makes the bike a lot more impractical. It's just that I noticed a lot of Bromptons without it and was wondering why.

Marginally cheaper/lighter; I didn't go for the rack when I bought mine, and faintly regret it, but will probably get one of the aftermarket lightweight ones as and when I start needing to do lots of multimodal commuting again.

I know this may be slightly against the rules , but I did offer it here first .
My B75 is on ebay with upgrades and a Carradice Stockport bag and I need it gone as I have just "accidently" bought a Cervelo .
It's on at £1000 with all the bits but would let it go for £750 to anyone from here.
The cervelo was a steal and I am massively in the shit with wifey as it's only 3 weeks ago I "accidently" bought a Cannondale .
send me an offer adding LFGSS in the message if interested.
Again sorry if massive faux pas but I did try here first. -

I don't think one exists to get me that far. I am probably the only person on the planet selling one of these at a loss at this time. That's how much trouble I'm in . And I have always wanted a Cervelo.

For various reasons I've not ridden my brompton for a couple of years. It's been stored indoors and was serviced (including replacement hinge pin and seatpost collar) shortly before then.
Anything Brompton-specific I need to look at beyond a normal bike going over before I start riding it again? Cheers

Honjo for Brompton are here
-
• #9422
Yep, lovely. Technically fragile but don't ride in the gutter and check them for flints in winter and you'll be fine.

• #9423
Also they look good which is critical

Done!
Speaking to a friend who would really like a Brompton, but budget and current lack of availability is out of his reach
Long shot, but has anyone got a frameset - or parts of! - any condition, I could breathe life into? Can pay/collect/donate to charity, whatever works. I’ve got a bunch of components in my parts bin where I went on a weight saving spree last summer, and would like to see if I can put together something on a budget for him.
