is that @StandardPractice 's place?

It’s beautifully engineered. Love mine. Although eye wateringly expensive. What did you go for?

2.4 m by 2 metre ,just shelving 30cm and 22cm. Think the cupboards or desk bits are even more overpriced than the over priced bits of powder coated bent metal.

Figured/told ourselves if you got a half decent chippy to run up some shelves for the area it would be some cost anyway and with these you can take with you or sell as keep most of their cost.

Looked at that nice house, wondered about the colourful landscape drawing.
Was about to ask, but then this place had all the answers already. -

oh, you'll love putting it up. If you can afford it, it's incredible. and having hunted for second hand for years they really do hold their value.
get a spirit level to complete the kit :)

re: alcove shelving, not sure if it helps but after failing to find any decent solid timber shelves I liked that could be trimmed to fit for not silly money, I ended up buying a whole 25mm ply board for £80 and making these.
Sorry for crap phone pic. The brackets are probably a bit shallow for the depth of shelf but I don't intend to load them up with a lot of weight and I wanted them to match the shelves in the kitchen.

Hard to tell from the angle whether that's a wider alcove than mine, but here's my Elfa.

Thanks @Fatberg and @Thrustvector useful both.
I thought 25mm ply would be overkill - was thinking 18 or 22, but it looks ok there. @Thrustvector are those 25mm too? My alcove is 1.3m wide, and has a very similar relationship with the shelving on the adjacent wall at the moment... I am definitely leaning towards more twin-track. I'm thinking of full width shelves and 3 tracks at 50cm spacing. I'd prefer to go with 3 'bays' rather than 2 (for looks) but it seems a bit too close together. Would be getting the ply cut and delivered - I can't saw straight.
@Fatberg - I used really hefty individual brackets to give extra support to a deep floating shelf and they've started to pull away from the wall, so I'm wary of that. Maybe I just hit a mortar joint but they are not staying in the (solid brick) wall :/ -

Yeah like the spirit level. All went up ok and pretty quickly. Already want more for other rooms.

I pity your poverty

Cat was a bit pissed off but wasn’t going on the doors.

nice cabling :P

On checking the brackets are 17cm deep, and the ply is 18mm thickness and I think 20cm depth, which is enough for most books other than oversized art formats.
I got all the ply cut at B&Q - one sheet was enough for both alcoves, and I managed to get it all done within however many free cuts they give you per sheet.
@amey you and me both...

The bricks this place is built if dissolve into sand if you look at them too long. I used loooong screws on the brick bit. Metal Plasterboard fixings elsewhere. dIY thread >>>>>>>>

Vitsoe is highly addictive. I make shelving/furniture professionally but I have Vitsoe at home, I couldn't custom make anything that versatile which which would keeps it's value as well.

the nobu building shoreditch, i think i like it, especially the wood print concrete, looks a little down at heel at the minute, leaf matter and street garbage collecting which spoils the clean lines
might fit in a nice rural scene overlooking a nice japanese garden and lake, it seems a bit overshadowed in this location -

It's beautiful, but I know what you mean about being overshadowed. It also looked more cohesive when the balconies were empty and there was no central tree at the back.
big shelf energy
