You've made me search for the GTI now.
How come these are so cheap?
Almost never saw them. When they came out I remember a VW fanboi mate talking to a dealer their were friendly with who was only given two and sold the first one as it was on the delivery truck.
I'd have expected them to be prime car collection territory.

3k will get you a 1.0 Lupo with coilovers, light wheels with very sticky rubber, and a Gripper diff if you want to go balls out.
