I think a clubman is basically the same as our current car, in that it's a small estate-ish car. Do like @Nahguavkire 's mini though.

Mk3 MR2? Buy a cheap one with good body and buggered engine and transplant the celica 180 engine in to it and have fun...Engine is a straight swap. New suspension and brake upgrades from the toyota range if you are worried.

It's smaller and much more like a Mini with a middle rear seat and a funny door on the wrong side.

The mk2 mini clubman is only approximately 6” longer than the normal mini (the newer ones are 4 doors and much bigger). It doesn’t drive like a small estate car. Mine is significantly faster than any of my mx5’s - last one was a RS which was the quickest of them all

MX5, get a boot rack fabbed that you can stand a MTB on by the fork and carry the front wheel in the passenger seat

They have a cult following, the bodies are aluminium but the suspension bits aren't and there are some horror stories with front suspension arms.

Not that I know of. The A2 and A8 are all Aluminium bodies and XJ and Xk are part ally.
