  • The original Everest is a bit of a looker too.

  • Meanwhile for those Datejust fans who like bats...

  • How is the rivet bracelet? Is it faux rivets like Tudor?

I was put off by miyota movement but I’ll probably get one if it comes back in stock

  • I have mine on an elastic strap so not too much to say about the bracelet. It's a rivet 'looking' bracelet as opposed to functionally as you say. Just dug it out and would say its fine to good for the price point. Can definitely hear the rotor if I give it a good shake now it's been brought up, but never noticed it on wrist until now fwiw.

  • Quite partial to this, look a bit chunky on that case tho.

  • I had one of these - slightly regret selling it - but the rotor noise was really quite loud (sometimes heard it over the car stereo when steering...). The bracelet is good and works with the watch - but IMO needs a flip lock on the clasp as I managed to open mine a couple of times by catching it on my jeans. A v good watch though - proper heat blued hands, sapphire, solid links and end links etc - and £325 is a bit of a steal, if you can get one via timefactors rather than ebay of course.

  • Mido Oceanstar 1961 has landed...that import duty stung though!

  • Thats lovely. I saw a review on it, its a good lovely reproduction on the original.

  • Was looking at it, such a lovely watch.

  • not all ebay sales make sense though. case in point: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114419332791

  • True, but there have been a lot of Everests selling for over RRP in the last year or so.

  • Yeah, I kept looking for second hand only to be at RRP or above.

Steinhart also seemed to hold it value as well especially on limited model like the Ocean 39 Explorer.

  • Yep, all the launch pics looked great online but its stunning in the flesh, colours are SO good. Keeping it wrapped up for now though, as may need to sell with a possible house move on the cards.

  • Very nice. I was really tempted by one of these but the lack of a UK distributor meant I never got round to a serious attempt at buying one.

  • The colour is something I do wonder, as photos and video always appear to make it look better, I’m glad to hear this is also the case IRL

I do love how it’s unconventional for a dive watch yet still unmistakably a dive watch rather than a weird Swatch mash up.

  • This looks like a signed baseball with all the certificates and gadgets.

  • Yep, no UKD was a pain, as import duty was over £200 ontop...I just couldn't help myself and took a chance at ordering when that second window opened

  • Great store in Hong Kong this, lovely bunch. Took me a while to find though as so many of the stores aren't on street level.

  • Weird, I posted a reply last night, now not here... Thanks dude, those pick show that the Steinhart isn't that bulky really. Hmmmm

  • And light being Ti.

As Ed pointed out, they hold their value but if you keep an eye on fleabay you can sometimes find a deal. (I didn't pay RRP for mine)

  • Do the decompression timers rotate with the bezel? Nice shark mesh strap too!

  • Nice! Can I say first dibs if you end up selling it...
