Enjoyed Mill Hill a lot more than Steyning Bostal yesterday. Just haven’t managed to get a handle on the Bostal this year.
Tried Goat’s pacing technique for Mill - found my most recent best 8 minute power (August while recceing the Scottish Nats climb) and rode to that. Aimed for 120% FTP and ended up with 118% without too much fade at the end. Would do again for longer hills.
I think that approach works well for more consistent gradients, I know Mill Hill has a few down bits but the ups look all quite similar. My best performance was on Warlingham, probably the most consistent gradient I’ve ridden.
