Just listed a Muddy Fox Courier Comp Frameset in the classifieds.
Thought it may be worth mentioning on this thread.
Apologies if it's not the done thing.

How did you set up the xt v brakes without squeal?
-
• #2606
It was quite easy, i put on a pair of good jagwire brakepads and set toe angle right

My bro sent this photo of his Alpinestars cro-mega DX and Scirocco GT2 - must have been taken around 1994.

Where can I buy a decent 26” rimbrake wheel set? Had a look on eBay and most are disc brake wheels. I also know nothing about mtb parts.
I’ve got this GT Talera waiting to be built up.

Cheers - He'll be delighted to hear that. Sirocco was sadly written off and replaced with an Audi S2 coupe and the alpinestars lasted till about 2003 when it got run over - the Cro-Mega DX TruTemper is the one to buy. I had an al-mega xt but it ended up with hairline cracks all over it. My other brother had the cro-mega LX which was a bit heavy and much less lively - that DX was great

I Had a 1992 version of the Cro Mega DX too but when wrenching a stuck seatpost out, the seat tube was ripped. So all the parts went to the 1991 version I had in the attic. Really one of my favourite vintage bikes.

Just picked up what I presume to be a Raleigh USA Chill, 1988, with a fantastic paint job on it.

How decent you looking for? I've got some Mavic 231 ceramic rims on XT rear and Pace titanium/crabon front hubs that I'm thinking I might sell. Won't be cheeps mind
This might get some love here, my Canonndale Cad1 in Epping Forest sometime over the summer shot on 35mm for 'retro vibes'. Bought as a winter whip last winter but too much fun to sell on now haha!
