the lifts were working last time I went through it - good job too, I had my 7 yr old and a tandem!
Greenwich is a different matter though - north lift has been out of action for a while

Woolwich foot tunnel is opened 24/7.
I think on Tuesday evening they have a tunnel cleaning and maintenance session but the rest of the time it’s fine. It’s a lot quieter than the Greenwich foot tunnel but the lifts are not as glamours as the Greenwich or large ones. At least it’s working though.

I discovered woolwich tunnel and ferry when I moved to East Ham, with rides to Greenwich during early days of lockdown and furlough over the summer. Done that journey a few times but never at night. But really appreciate the link it gives to south side.

It is great at night, and a brilliant ferry journey.

Woolwich is the superior foot tunnel. Except for the lifts, which always smell of piss.

I guess I should stop pissing in the lifts

I remember when the lifts were being whatevered and having to carry bikes up the stairs.
Is the woolwich foot tunnel open as normal currently ? i take it that it is open 24hrs a day.
