That's good to know. Work space is nice to hear as well, makes a change from motorbikes and needing Trumps hands to get anywhere.
I'd most likely do the same mods as you but the 12%. There's other vehicles to consider, but I'm not looking to carry a lot of passengers or goods, so something a little more fun without smashing 3 figures at every turn is very tempting. It's the reliability after 14 years that's important. What did you look for in that area before buying?

To be honest I bought the car from a former BMW Service Manager so I took a punt that it was well looked after by him but the main thing to watch out for is the 100k mile supercharger service. Other than that I'd keep an eye for strut towers mushrooming and I think that's really the two main things to watch? @NurseHolliday would probably have some good tips...
Honestly it's been great! The only thing that presented as a problem is the alternator let me down but I wouldn't be too upset by that in a 14 year old car. Everything else has been routine maintenance and modifications. It's not too bad to work on either though a little cramped under the bonnet but manageable.
It's a blast to drive though. I've recently swapped the air filter for a K&N conical and also done a Davef (increased air intake from scuttle to back of airbox) airbox mod, bigger intercooler with diverter and serviced the supercharger so it's running really nicely. I've got a full Milltek exhaust to go on next and I'll swap the pulley for a 16% I think which should be very very nice!
