  • Seiko samurai,

    Strap or bracelet?

What size wrist? Not that I think that matters. I have average size wrists. But I am a chunky meat-head so I get away with bigger watches. I look stupid with small ones like they're girls bracelets.

  • These Steeldive watches, are the AliX ones the same?
Seems odd to make a snide of a snide watch.
Seems a cheap way to get a decent movement and case for modding

  • Biek Mielec?

  • I like this - new Prospex SLA 62MAS like thing - but my wallet will murder me

  • All came from same factory, San Martin, Steeldive, Heilmdr, etc.

Difference is what each “company” requirement are, such as San Martin are regarded a better quality than Steeldive etc.

  • The blue second hand is a really nice touch.

  • I’m in the same boat.

  • What do you guys think of this? Asking for a friend.
    Omega ref 14390

  • Those Steeldives look interesting. Anyone got the Tudor 'Black Bay' one?

  • Bracelet, currently. I always switch between straps but the samurai is noticeably heavier. My speedy feels light in comparison, even on the bracelet. But I wear g-shocks too.

As for Steinhardt being copies... I don't mind so much, just means I can wear the watch without fear of damage or loss compared to the real thing.

  • I think it looks awful.

  • The slight green lume?

  • The light blue painted hand. Expected on yet another LE turtle, looks cheap and nasty on a 62MAS reissue costing several thou.

  • Will sell. 😎

  • Looks like an average redial if I am honest

  • I would say it’s legit but hard to tell without a high-res picture with decent lighting. Anything in particular that makes you suspicious?

@PawG looks like a couple of lume pips have departed (9/10/11), case is average for age, would need to do homework that the movement is correct. How much?

  • It was listed at £1250 from a vintage Omega dealer, bought for £950, now for sale at £600. These vintage Omegas are all over the place!

  • Price is OK but manual wind Omegas from this period are quite common so if your friend is buying as something special to wear I’d hold out for better condition. Be aware the size maybe teeny (30mm).

  • Thanks.
The size is 35.5, so really nice. I guess this is good as it was serviced (although not by Omega) just over a year ago.

  • Saving a couple of hundred on a service is always good and the alpha hands look original. Hard to tell the true dial colour and condition in that lighting - yellow light hides dirt and stains.

  • Smudges around the numerals and the text possibly looks a hair too thick. Also case and hands are pretty battered but dial is clean. I could be wrong of course.

I would avoid and keep an eye on OF private sales for something similar from a trusted member.

  • The light blue painted hand. Expected on yet another LE turtle, looks cheap and nasty on a 62MAS reissue costing several thou.

    Sadface

  • Squale medium 30 ATM watch for sale. It's 36mm across so a nice understated size. I bought it second hand off ebay 4-5 years ago. I'd like £200 for a quick sale, and would prefer not to post. I live in E3 and work near Euston.

The two main downsides, there is a very faint line where the hour hand has lightly scrapped the watch face from 1 o'clock to 4 o'clock. It also needs a service, it gains not far off an hour a day.

  • I like the SLA017 more but still wouldn’t mind either.

  • If its gaining an hour a day its probably just magnetised. Easy and cheap to fix...
