  • Does anyone know if you can buy different parts from various suppliers and build your own with the scheme? Tried to contact them about this but no luck at the moment....

  • Doubtful, as you specify the retailer of choice. Cyclescheme.co.uk definitely has space for one only.

  • NB There is already a thread for CycleScheme:

(bontie may well be right, of course, and there may be no need for you to ask the question there, too.)

  • He’s right. There is only one voucher and it goes to the shop. There is no way to split. To buy parts rather than a whole bike needs a willing shop as technically you’re not supposed to do it, but many people have. But not all shops are prepared to sell only parts under the scheme.

  • Are there any knwon shops who do not take the mickey and chargean admin fee on redeeming a voucher?
I have been shopping around and a few blatantly state they charge a 10% processing fee. So much for tax free savings and all that

  • That should change soon as Cyclescheme have agreed to drop from 12.5% (ex. VAT) commission to something more reasonable (can’t remember what). You’ll still make tax savings, even if there’s an admin fee.

  • I think Decathlon is not charging anything extra?

  • I didn't realise they took commission in which case it makes sense.
Seems another govt scheme has been hijacked...

With up to £4300 per annum (not that I have taken the full amount) a 10% admin fee does add up
