For sale is this Purple Schwinn Aluminum. I don't know much about the bike as it was originally but through some digging found out it is a Japanese made frame from some point in the late nineties. It has served as a lovely commuter for about a year and a half but has sat unused since I got another bike.
Its a super stiff frame, due to the joined chain stays at the back and can be super shreddy, I had it set up as a single speed for a little while (managed to find the unicorn 46/18) and it was super nippy and felt almost like a track bike. The paintwork is a bit rough but its all cosmetic. I managed to fit a 28c tyre in the back of it, albeit very tightly but runs 25c very comfortably. It has had a Tange sealed cartridge bearing bottom bracket and headset installed roughly a year ago but has been stored for about 6 months, still lovely and smooth. It also comes with a quill seat post, which is a novel feature and looks great. However, there is a tiny crack in the top of the seat post. I rode it every day for about 9 months and it never got any worse. Ideally, I would have had one made but it never became an issue (this is also part of why it is priced the way it is).
Its a really big frame, I'm 6'4 and it fits me like a glove and Im truly a bit sad to see it go.
