  • In VLC on Windows (though that looks like a Mac font in the title) then there's a Subtitles menu item which lets you pick which to show, or to show none at all.

    It'll generally be that you've downloaded something that contains the video (.mp4) and some subtitles (.srt I think) in the same folder.

  • First thing I checked. It’s not just VLC though, it’s doing it on in-browser players too. Must be the MacBook, but how?
