  • Anyone used challenge strada tlr 30 tan wall tyres ? Still searching for a tan wall 30ish good winter tyre.

  • thats good to know!

It's for my Isen ... I can get 35mm g-ones or Caren suggests getting a 26" wheel. The latter might be out of budget for me.

@TM ... that might be too living on the edge for me.

  • Jack Brown Mile Muncher?

  • If they're like the older ones I had, nice tyres, too much trouble to mount to have a second pair.

  • I use the non tubeless ones through the winter and they’re fab, if a nightmare to mount as mentioned ^.

  • I had the roubaix ones and ok like a flat piece of liquorice . I fitted them with no problem then blew them off the rim using my track pump. Looking for the tlr now.

  • Five month review of my Jack Brown Mile Munchers:

Pretty flawless. Obviously this period is summer, but they've done some rather grotty rides while I took my bike to Wales for a week in wind and rain. Two "visitations" - one was a bloody drawing pin which it seems some lovely person bestowed upon me at the top of Ide Hill (or on the way), and a couple of weeks ago the rear seemed to deflate overnight. Couldn't see any likely cause but swapped the tube anyway. I bought the brown sidewalls - the front looks pretty clean still but the rear is quite discoloured. They feel nice to ride, in the rain I have full confidence - they're not slippery at all.

They are displaying some signs of wear, namely a few tiny cuts, but nothing big enough to look like it would cause immediate problems. They've done nearly 6000km. I will attempt to ride this pair into winter, and look at buying another pair the next time they're on sale at Planet X. Highly recommended, especially when they're discounted.

  • what rims do you have them on? whats the 'real' width?

  • real width is small, on narrow rims they look like 23mm ( the 25.5mm ones ).

I'm getting rid of a pair of 25.5mm ones, 1500km use

  • real width is small, on narrow rims they look like 23mm ( the 25.5mm ones ).

pls tell me your rim width /no-euph

  • very narrow, easton ea50 ( 19mm external ! ). track wheelset

  • they're on a set of dt swiss er1400 wheels (think the rims are 20mm wide internal) and the tyres measure very true to size, 30mm.

  • Yup the 25.5 version defo come up nowhere near. I measured 24mm or a road rim (don't know anything about widths, soz).

  • ah so you werent talking about the 25.5 version, fair. I have TIGHT clearances on my flyer for which I have purchased these. The current GP 4 seasons just about fit. Kinlin ADHN.

  • great review though; inspires confidence in me when I go on the voyage of de-tubeless-ing road tyres in 2021.

Next bike is getting Kojak like its 2013!

  • Vittoria Corsa G+....managed not one but 2 punctures on a 15km commute in yesterday both front and rear, 3 miles apart....very wet and late for a meeting. A bird also shat on my me, but hey things happen in 3’s right?

Time to put the Conti’s back on...

  • Went the non-winter tyre route in the end, a pair of 28c Gp5000 TLs.

Wow, they're a bitch to get on! Had to resort to a zip tie holding one side in place.

  • good to know, seems that thes gp5000 are tight.
I just set-up a pro-one 25mm on a reynolds carbon rim, the mounting was easy-ish ( still needed levers but thats down to the rim itself i think.

  • You used levers to mount a tyre? 🤦 on a carbon rim? double 🤦

  • Before I stick a classifieds post up I'm going to be selling 4 x 28c Turbo Cotton tyres. They're in great condition and have seen around 150km so barely used. I'd be selling them in pairs for £75. If anyone is interested drop me a pm. I'll be listing then in the classifieds on Monday if no one takes them before then.

  • If you want gumwalls, maybe try velolfex.

I had the same issue with corsa G, the colour was meh but as you I had so many punctures in a week that i decided to throw them in the bin striaght away.

  • Hi all!
Any recommendations on antipuncture tires that are not crazy slippery for wet weather riding in the city?
The thickslick on the rear wheel of my fixedgear is increadibly slippery so I am looking for some thick 700 32-35c tires for tricks and bike deliveries.

    Thanks to anybody that helps.
