  • Some internal cable routing and you'd barely notice that

  • So much yes... tickin so many boxes !

  • I need a new pair of clipless MTB shoes as the ones I've got are good, but an arse to walk in (stiff XC-oriented carbon sole). LBS has some cheap Giro Terradura; does anyone have a pair and how are they for riding and hike-a-bike?

  • They're big, heavy and clumpy.

  • Thx.. I'll pass then. Might be why they can't shift the last pairs a long time after this version went out of production.

  • As an aside I think i saw you were using the fizik ones? How do you find them?

  • I have all 3 models. For hab the lace up ones dont support the ankle. The middle ones, 'clima' are good but not perfect. Ans the event ones are waterproof. I'd prefer no velcro and just a boa on the clima. But the sole is perfect. Ive walked for hours and hours in then, all day. So yeah I'd recommend, but I didnt pay for them. There are other good shoes out there, possibly cheaper.

  • Cheers. I’m not racing but getting a week or two away to ride in the mountains is not so easily sorted out for me so I’d rather pay for good shoes than waste the opportunity.

  • Unless you’ve got other suggestions

  • Not really. Someone I know had the shimnao mt7 and said they're good, but own brand rubber sole wont be as good as vibrim.

Maybe order a few pairs and see how they fit/are.

I saw this the other day, you can see a theme. Vibram soles win out.
I like boa for simplicity and function. Laces are not good off road. Velcro ok.

The specilized ones looks good sole, but why put laces, just makes faff. I'd replace the laces with elastic cord and tie it off and just use boa. Would be tight enough.

Those pearl izumi look good I'd get a pair to try, and see how they fit you. Make the fizik look stupid expensive.

  • Ride with flat pedals?

Buy those small flexible “water sport” shoes to pack away?

  • Even on MTB, unless I’m riding bike parks I prefer clipless.

  • might be of interest to those considering the badger divide/gravel in the north of scotland

  • No captioning therefore it can go do one >>>>>>>>

  • Will a RD-R8050-GS work with an XT 11-40 with an extended hanger thing (like the wolftooth or sunrace one)?

  • it might work alone, depending on frame. I have one on my endurace and grail with no issue

  • Been looking for 'one bike to do everything' after downsizing from 3 bikes to 1.

I was going to do a Waltly Ti build but they didn't reply to my emails after 3 weeks, so I did some extreme man maths and picked this up custom Croix de Fer Ti for a good price.

It's been great fun in gravel + road modes so far. Massive faff fitting the guards but done now.

Ultegra groupset with a dura-ace crankset (which is complete overkill for my needs so might swap that out. )

  • I was going to do a Waltly Ti build but they didn't reply to my emails after 3 weeks.

In the mist of a global pandemic, we’re also struggling with emails and we have a dedicated team for it!

  • Fair. I'd just sold all my bikes and needed to move faster than it became evident it would take. It has now been 5+ weeks mind and you would expect an acknowledgement of the order form.

  • Tripster AT. I guess the only thing is to buy the cassette and see.

  • You probably won't need Wolfwooth. I've mentioned a shitload of times my Tripster is running 11-42 with the Ultegra shadow cage (no wolfie).

Ran it on the Mason: https://www.lfgss.com/comments/15141911/

  • Compact or sub-compact?

  • Compact

Recent races its had a 46T outer instead of the 50. Might go back to 50T, dunno. Not sure I can find chains long enough! :D

  • Buy two.

    You’re welcome.

  • They'd be Two long then.
