I’ve a pair of DT 240’s, due a service, and I had in mind upgrading to 36t ratchet... However, I’m reliably informed that all ratchet hubs can “easily be upgraded to ratchet EXP”, which appeals to me, since I’m changing bits anyway. But beyond this I can’t find details of how!
Of course, disassembly is straight forward, but because there is a difference in the bearing spacing between the two interactions of the hubs, surely the replacement EXP bits surely can’t drop straight in; there must be an additional spacer or the need to use and EXP axle too.
I also can’t ascertain whether there is any difference between the standard and EXP branded freehubs, or is it simply that they have ceramic bearings?
Has anyone looked into this?
Has anyone accomplished this?
Cheers
