  • CTT are sending carrier pigeons🕊️

  • Presumably you have to have entered a number of hill climbs this season to be eligible for nat champs?

  • Nothing like as clear as that. In theory you submit your top 3 placings in open HCs this year, but there's no accounting for quality so your 10th at Wobble Wheelers CC in theory counts as much as 10th at Monsal. Ideally the organiser has a bit of a view of the scene so riders who deserve a ride get one.

  • Very good.

  • Fine. I’ll enter then.
Probably have to ride out or something

  • I see.
I'm actually asking for a friend. He's stick thin and goes up hill like a whippet but hasn't been racing this year. I wanted to enter him but I guess he'll have to do some more next season instead

  • I wanted to enter him

    hur.

As of last night I understand that there has been 408 entries for 480 spaces. Not sure on the male/female split but next year there'll only be 240 spaces so might still be worth an entry this year as demand will be high for 2021.

  • ffs

Might be worth emailing them then

  • What gear ratio do people reckon?

  • I was faster on 51" than 53", but I'd hope you'd be faster than me

  • I actually can't be bothered to order in a new chainring- so if I get a place I will probably ride out and be on gears.

  • Presumably you have to have entered a number of hill climbs this season to be eligible

No, you just get preference for entry if you have qualifying rides. If the entry is short of the permitted total, everybody gets a ride.

  • there's no accounting for quality

CTT basing points scored on a system which takes no account of who else rode? Imagine that!

  • Any inside info on next years hill?

  • I've gone and entered it!

  • 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

  • Gwan then...

  • Not fully confirmed yet but if it is, it'll be worth it

  • Yorks Hill

  • Winnats, the spiritual home and natural amphitheatre of UK hill climbing.

  • Yes pls. Also now just down the road from me

  • Start times out for the mitre, Tejvan is riding and last weeks winner Lukas Nerurkar

  • Baaah! I was hoping for a podium or even a win. Lukas and Mark Aldred (former Olympic rower) are both late entries. Hadn’t even thought of Tejvan!

I’ve beat him before... I can do it again.

...he’d not touched a bike for a year and hadn’t competed for two...
