I made this thread a while ago and Hambini is pretty much the same as my friend. The way they talk, social skills, humor, language, everything.

I watched him on the GCN video and actually found him to be really interesting, not so much of a twat, and actually quite a charming person.

I get the feeling Hambini is way out of his depth and what started as a bit of fun has turned into something a little more serious.

Well It looks like hambinis dialed it right back for his latest video with the super six undersized bb fix. Really interesting honest video he sticks to the facts and comes across really well and probably didn't offend anyone so if this is going to be the tone of his videos for a while i definitely think he's on the right track. Shame things had to kick right off for that penny to finally drop.

Still going on about MAB "taking great offence" by him, and he refusing to apologise about it.

Assuming the hate email that he read out was genuine (no reason to believe it wasn’t) the level of outrage should be greater for that than the whole MAB situation?

Not saying that his comments, whether sexist or not are excused because he has been heavily affected by racism.

He does have a lot of interesting knowledge and I've certainly found some of it useful from early on videos. I'd stopped watching as I couldn't be bothered with the BS but checked back to see if things had changed. The crazy thing about the whole MAB thing is that ride he keeps going on about was only a few minutes over an hour, which was never not allowed. But yeah, I've gone back to ignoring it all again. Shames

I thought his point was that it was a work related trip, non essential and therefore not ok? Bit of a stretch either way. Some of the emails he read out on the latest video were awful, who was it upthread who said he was just "claiming" racism?

The reason to believe it wasn't genuine is that hambini has a well documented history of not letting the truth get in the way of whatever story he wants to tell.

It would be surprising if he didn't receive racist communications, because he's an opinionated brown person on social media, but it would be equally surprising if he hadn't spiced up whichever one he chose to read out in some ill conceived attempt to distract people from his own bigotry by playing the victim.

This is just pent up sexual aggression that he's taking out on the bike industry isn't it.

Whilst everyone else interested in bikes is actually out riding them and having fun.

I've actually started to find the bits around engineering tolerances quite interesting, just a shame it's all presented in such a grim format.

I think it'd be great if he followed the same sort of presentation format as Engineering Explained, but that ship has long sailed I think.

Iv'e watched bits of his videos and always find them amusing at first but quickly switch them off once he starts ranting. I started watching his latest one on the Open upper because I was curious to see what was so terrible about a frame that seems almost universally loved by everyone thats ridden one. While I find his constant swearing juvenile it doesn't offend me but calling someone a c**t is one thing, its a completely different thing to say that "cycling journalists should have their gene pools chlorinated". Certainly won't be watching any more of his videos

He's announced he is being sued by Open, Vroomen and Kessler and might be crowdfunding a defence.

As much as I feel it's inevitable that he's being sued and I can see why the company would want to, in my non-expert opinion he's going to have a pretty good case of it being the truth (expert in his field, done testing on the frame, presented the facts etc) and maybe also that it's in the public interest if their frames could be dangerous (in the video he's talking about a large void in drive side chain stay).

Just to add I don't follow or enjoy his content, it's childish and sexist.

For Open its a bit of a "Barbra Streisand effect" situation
