Seems like it would be as effective as using Magura brakes

When my grandad was ill we put lard on his back, he went down hill quickly after that.

Talking of rotors, is 203mm F&R excessive?
XT 4 pots both ends.

Better to have it and hope you never need it, than to not have it and need it.

No. I run 200 front and rear on all my mountain bikes.
Weight difference from 180 is less than 50 grams!I actually run a 220mm rotor on the front on a 27.5 nomad. Not all forks are rated to take more than 203 though.

I ordered the Helm, what sold it was the adjustability (which of course I may never use) which means that I could run it at 130mm with Hans Dampf/Rocket Ron wheels, or 150mm with DHF II's, or indeed at 160mm with a 27.5 rear wheel for full on Harley impersonation duties.
Also, the RC529 is in stock right now, whereas the Santa Cruz would be February.
Now, I still need a hardtail for the Mrs. 27.5 wheels, 120ish fork - suggestions for something I could actually order and receive this side of November?

160mm on a hardtail is a bit daft imo

I'm assuming that the head angle stated on the site is with a 150mm fork, so running it at 130mm should steepen things up somewhat.

Geometry is shown with a 150mm fork unsagged.

Yeah, unless it was super slack. BTR do a DH hard tail though 🤷♂️

I hesitate to use the words 'just get' as I feel they're heavily overused on here, but just get an Isen GOAT already

You're halfway there.
Also I'd be careful riding that round in deer mating season, look at those sexy antlers.
That's just ridiculous
