  • Five month review of my Jack Brown Mile Munchers:

Pretty flawless. Obviously this period is summer, but they've done some rather grotty rides while I took my bike to Wales for a week in wind and rain. Two "visitations" - one was a bloody drawing pin which it seems some lovely person bestowed upon me at the top of Ide Hill (or on the way), and a couple of weeks ago the rear seemed to deflate overnight. Couldn't see any likely cause but swapped the tube anyway. I bought the brown sidewalls - the front looks pretty clean still but the rear is quite discoloured. They feel nice to ride, in the rain I have full confidence - they're not slippery at all.

They are displaying some signs of wear, namely a few tiny cuts, but nothing big enough to look like it would cause immediate problems. They've done nearly 6000km. I will attempt to ride this pair into winter, and look at buying another pair the next time they're on sale at Planet X. Highly recommended, especially when they're discounted.

  • real width is small, on narrow rims they look like 23mm ( the 25.5mm ones ).

I'm getting rid of a pair of 25.5mm ones, 1500km use

  • they're on a set of dt swiss er1400 wheels (think the rims are 20mm wide internal) and the tyres measure very true to size, 30mm.
