TV is a shit medium for stand up.
I've never been to live stand up but I have also never, ever laughed at stand up on the telly so I'm not exactly encouraged to spend money to go see it.
Actually, that's a lie. Mrs M_V took me to see Bianca Del Rio who, if you don't know, is a drag queen that does insult comedy. I was dreading it due to the aforementioned never having laughed at stand up on telly but actually it was great so yeah, maybe telly is just shit for comedy.

TV is a shit medium for stand up. Some times a comedian turns out to have a broader range of talent, but mostly what works well with a live audience over 20 minutes or more looks shit when exhibited in TV.
