Started a Hideo Kojima game. Not 100% sure what's happening....

I saw a sponsored ad on Instagram showing a game but now can't remember what it was called.

On Switch, 3rd person shooter, realistic graphics, looked a bit post apocalyptic / zombie themed (although I might be wrong on this), mentioned building a base, free to play.

Any ideas?

Fallout 76? Outerworlds?

The world looked fairly normal, more like Walking Dead than something more fantasy

Free to play as well... nice. As long as it's not like stuff like DayZ where you get murdered by other players whilst you're trying to work out how the controls work

Edit 2: lots of very grim reviews - mostly about the fact that you can actually gamble with real money in it. They don't mean just loot boxes apparently, but actual gambling about who is going to win.

Just watched a stream of someone playing it. It looks almost the same as the X-Wing games in the 90s so I'll probably buy it.

I'm not saying people wont enjoy it or that it might not even be 'good' but fuck EA in general and specifically fuck their policy of review embargoes before launch.

It's a practice purely designed to deliver strong initial revenue based on hype, marketing and ott or misleading trailers rather than the merits of the product.

Picked up darkest dungeon on ps4 this week. Rogue like dungeon crawler where you feed explorers into the meat grinder and they come out delusional/paranoid and all sorts of other things until they stop trusting each other or even turn on one another until they all die and you hire some more intrepid explorers to take their place.

it's very heavy on resource grinding to level things up and unlock better perks and skills and weapons to make the explorers tough enough to get deeper into the dungeons so not a light game and i imagine a full playthrough is quite long-winded and it's not a game where victory is guaranteed.

it's apparently available on most platforms so might be cheaper on steam than ps store but worth a look.

Default control pad setup is a bit awkward, looking forward to giving it a proper go with stick, throttle and pedals over the weekend. Can't wait.

I've not seen any decent reviews of the MGS re-releases to be honest, and I'm skeptical of anything Konami does at this point. On par with EA IMO. So wouldn't get my hopes up too high around some good quality re-releases.

Hi all, I can’t log in to PlayStation network, I only get the option to start a new account. It means I can’t play Gran Turismo at all.

Account management > sign in to PlayStation network then I just get this join ps network screen and no option to sign in to existing account. I can’t even start a new account because my email addresses are already associated with ps accounts I’ve had to fuck about with before. Anyone know a solution? Cheers.

I'm getting real excited for the PS5 release now, 6 weeks to go. I've pre ordered Godfall and Cyberpunk.

Godfall looked pretty forgettable from the Japanese yt previews this week...

Permanent online connection required too which is shitty for a single player game.

Agree it's shitty in theory but it's not like I have a data limit. Disagree about the previews, I was watching a video of someone playing it because it was meant to show load times quite well but I thought it looked fun.

They described it as Destiny but punching and I'm in for that.
