That looks okay to me. I have Shimano dynamos on both my bikes, the dynamo end normally has a connector for bare wires, so a cable like https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/dynamos/dynamo-wire-double-core-black-with-standard-push-on-connector-21-metres-long/ that had spades on one end to connect to the light should be all you need.

The schmidt light are B&M lights rebranded?
-
• #3231
I think just the LED and reflector, the rest is custom.

This is a charming clip about them. Swayed me to give them another go after 20 years.

Despite not having the requisite German to understand all of that, I enjoyed the video

Ta was waiting to get one of these in silver.
Does anyone want
a) to buy my Edelux II in black
b) swap my SON rear in black for the same in silver? Or just buy the pair and I'll stump up for a new one? -
• #3236
Nothing wrong with either, minimal mileage. Just aesthetic reasons for sale..

What's the absolute cheapest you'd go for dynamo lights? I expect them to get broken in communal bike storage so don't want to get anything nice. Would you pay extra for a parking light?

I don't like the idea of being stood in the road at a red light with no lights on at all if it's night time

Get one of these, you will not be disappointed with the output or the front standlight

https://www.lfgss.com/comments/15492464/ vaguely similar question. I like the look/price of the ali express setup though...
-
• #3244
I was wondering about them a while ago, have you got one?
-
• #3245
I do have one , will upload a poor video shortly,
turning the front wheel by hand, the light starts to work at a slowish walking pace. Has a good cut off .Too wet to go outside to illustrate

Seems pretty nice! If it can last a winter that would be pretty great.
-
• #3247
I’ve got one too! (I think off of your recommendation)
Works well, would also recommend.
I had to open it up to stop some slight rattling and doused everything in boeshield while I was there. Will hopefully hinder corrosion over winter.

Very good point, stand light it is.
RE: The AliExpress stuff I'd prefer to get something from a European manufacturer, (perhaps idly) hoping it was made under marginally better circumstances with a bit more respect for the environment. Think I'll go for B&M Avy Plus and an Axa Go Steady.

Go on, then...
(Have slid into ur DMs.)
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Busch-and-M%C3%BCller-Lumotec-Fly-IQ-Front-Light-Bracket/224163804940?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 I won this auction and now I've no idea what I actually need to get this to work. I've got a cheap shimano dyno hub. I had a google round but all the dynamo lights have identical names so it's quite hard to work out what's going on.
This is normally where someone steps in to tell me that sadly what I've bought in an e-bike light or designed for scooters and as such, worthless.
