I went with continental contact urban 2.2 in the end. They came out as 53mm on my decathlon dynamo front wheel. Seem to roll...fine.
There's still loads of space in this GT Tequesta frame, both width and height, I suppose that's how people wedge 2.3s under 60 or 65mm guards for that stance nation look. Which I like, but I can't be bothered to buy anymore tyres. These were the largest tyres that I could find that didn't either weigh 1kg each (big ben, conti contact plus) have tread (too many to mention), or state that they were made for dirt bike racing (maxxis dth, fat frank)
will keep the hive mind informed of further developments.
Any of the 26er functional lot tried Continental CONTACT Speed or Continental CONTACT Urban?
Currently leaning towards CONTACT Speed because it's all black. But last time I ordered a 2.0 tyre (marathon supreme) they came out at 43mm and I sank into a pit of despair and sent them back. If this is another undersized tyre thing I'd rather just get the CONTACT Urban in 2.2.
