I've not noticed it before but it looks like it works pretty well for 4 watches (give or take). Does it have any cushioning inside or is it just (what looks like) plastic webbing?

Just in case you throw your watches in an aircraft hold?
-
• #48055
Yeah.
The tray is removable so you can store parts underneath but its pretty tight loaded as I say.
The top has a rubber mesh that will give some cushioning and support but that's it.
I would imagine some of the bigger buckles / Zulus etc might not fit through the slots.

Thanks. Been thinking of a Pelican/Nanuk case to keep my watches in. Will investigate this further.

Please don’t berate me, my day hasn’t been good. I’m looking for an Apple Series 3 watch similar to the pic - without the marks etc. I have posted on the apple thread too. Not happy!!

The touch screen is broken. Mate phoned me and said ‘it could be worse, it could have been my Speedy’. That is pushing it to find a positive!

How did that happen? Bike crash?
I tried one in an Apple shop the other day and was underwhelmed. Want an accurate HR watch, but the demo one I tried just couldn't get it right. The new straps are OK but I discovered one wrist is slightly narrower than the other, so the old adjustable strap fit better (for me). Anyway, taken off my wish list. Curse Apple and their boring minimalism. Let's have an OG iMac or clamshell iBook style watch already.

Want an accurate HR watch
Can someone explain to me what the appeal of these measurement watches is like vivosmart / fitbit / etc.?
Is it just blokes being gadget nerds?

That sucks, can you replace the screen?
Was thinking the other day that someone should make a trench watch style cage for apple watches. Would make them much cooler.

Nah, for me its a genuinely useful way of keeping on top of my health, training levels and possible fatigue to avoid overtraining. Accurate all day HR is also useful for spotting when you are coming down with a virus early.
The pulsox feature on my vivosmart is also useful for altitude acclimatisation when I'm climbing (because my old model fenix doesn't have that feature).
All day HR tracking is a surprisingly powerful tool. Do I need it? Clearly not as I have lived 38 years without one. Its not a gadget thing for me though, being able to look at a continuous HR history is really useful to me.

My Apple Watch can take a ‘ecg’ of sorts and can alert me to AF , I shave suffered with it for years .
Quite useful to have a record , it’s quite good on HR for me and a good swim watch for open water .
I don’t take my Garmin on the bike now , I don’t really need the phone with me on a ride either but I take pics -

I have no idea how it happened. I was moving stuff around in my shed and it must have hit something. This is my second broken Apple Watch. First one got dropped on a floor.
Pondering options to replace it. -

I have a Garmin watch I wear most days. It’s useful for tracking patterns in my fitness and general health - left to my own devices, I have a tendency to swing between being a lazy bastard and then binge exercising to make up for it, and the tracking has helped me keep things at a healthy level and I’ve been making much better progress with my fitness as a result.
The back has a crystal as well indeed. I have not educated myself about it much (yet, although it looks impossible to understand), but apparently you can navigate with it. Interesting read herehttps://www.hodinkee.com/articles/the-history-and-science-behind-the-lindbergh-longines-hour-angle-watch
This example is a 38mm from the late 80s and has been worn a lot, which makes for a nice patina (bezel enameling has faded) and even more nostalgic to my eyes.
