  • I swapped the 6-cd changer in my Legacy for a £60 Chinese cheapo off the bay.
The hardest was to get the fascia to match (not many options for a 12 y.o. vehicle).
    Absolutely worth it.

  • I’m gonna attach three axle mounts to the back of the middle row of seats, so when all seats are folded flat I can fit three (drop bar) bikes stood vertically.

  • Do the seats fold flat into the floor? Cunning if so.

  • Yes. Second and 3rd row fold completely flat.

  • 6 sheep.
From memory the fancy spec ones don't fold flat.
    Then 3 sheep.

    Or one of these guys:

    Alternate sheep capacity of vehicles:
    BMW 1 series- 2 comfortably, 3 at a pinch.
    Porsche 911- none.
    Golf Mk3 3 sheep
    Mercedes E-class, at least 2

  • Excite.

    Hopefully a November delivery.

  • Yeah - that’s the whole reason I bought it. The huge and fully flat load space with high roof is pretty well thought out, and ability to also use as a ‘normal’ people carrying vehicle are why I bought it.

7 seats total. Normal 3 back seats, then a further two that pop up as a third row, and still leave a hatchback size boot space. Back two seats would be uncomfortable for anyone over 5’8 for longer than an hour tho.

I much prefer the look of the Disco 2.5, but the rear seats don’t fold totally flat, and they have laughable reliability issues..... even compared to other Landies, which is why I settled on an early model Disco 3.

The higher up load space will make loading bikes more annoying compared to a caddy/transporter, but I think I’ll be able to live with it.

It came with decent Yoko all terrain tyres too, so have started thinking about loading it up for some adventures.

  • Hopefully will have the axle mount set up sorted in next few weeks, so can update with loaded pics once sorted if needed

  • Very impressed with the Leon estate, felt sharp, tight and torquey. Lots of toys/autonomous driving bits and the digital dash is very cool.
Vastly better driving position than any of the horrible crossover/SUVs we’ve been recommended.

  • Skoda Fabia 1.2 2011 died tonight .
I think the timing chain snapped ( apparently common) and AA man says it’s probably uneconomical to repair .
Still it’s seen 3 of our boys through driving tests and their first driving years .Every corner bar one has been kissed but it’s been quite cheap to keep on the Road until last week when I spent £690 on MOT service tyres and discs and pads .. typical .
Shame , but unless any of you think different it’s probably time to call the scrapper

  • You're selling it already? or is this on the astra?

  • The Astra! Just trying to get it right before passing it on.

  • I don't know if you've got a preferred garage in Leeds but MVS Daytona in Burley are excellent. I took my vans and my car there for years, they always did good work at a reasonable price and never did anything unnecessary to bump the price up. They even did a few little jobs for free (admittedly after I'd spent thousands there over a few years).

  • I’m reluctant to take it to a garage - it’s only going to be worth £500 at the absolute most, so I don’t want to pay someone to do anything I’ve got a reasonable chance at getting right myself. And I need to sell it in the next couple weeks.

Might not hurt to have a quote for piece of mind tho!

  • That's totally reasonable!

  • Small but satisfying job today. Spare centre air vent for a tenner off eBay.

  • I love the Business CD ;). only plays R4 and audiobooks by captains of industry?

  • Strictly motivational speeches and BUY BUY SELL SELL at full volume.

  • ^^ Love doing that kind of job.

Hoops’s Disco has struck a chord with me, in far happier buying stuff that has suffered horrible depreciation than I am stuff that has held its money.

Where are the 6 litre V8 luxury panel vans, that’s what I want to know.

I suspect a 4.4 litre Rangie with the rear seats out is still going to be too small for an XL 29er though.

  • I got the tandem back to civilisation from wherever I purchased it north of cambridge in the back of a Range Rover classic with some seats folded down, but I can't remember what I had to take off to make that happen.

  • If you can’t fit it in the back of a disco 3 with two rows down, it’s not worth taking somewhere.

Think it’s something nuts like 2,600l of fully flat, square space.

  • Bear in mind how lazy I am - I want to put the bike in without taking the wheel out. Although I imagine that that’s very possible putting it in diagonally.

  • You need to accept the fact that load carrying vehicles are not sports cars.

You can’t drive a van like it’s a Porsche, because physics. It’s not like it’s an estate car that you can tweak within an inch of its life and end up with an RS6. It’s a fucking van. They are more than fast enough for motorway use as standard. So trying to make a van go as fast as a Porsche is idiotic at best.

I can understand wanting a van that has more sporty styling, and a more luxurious interior, but wanting some kind of RS6 style super van thing that has 500hp just makes absolutely zero sense whatsoever.

  • It’s more the cost of it. A C63 is, post depreciation, way cheaper than a T5/T6, if you compare the kit you get.

Does your Disco drive like a van?
