Will snoop in on here. Same boat as you.
-
• #3
3rds - probably a bit lower budget/less bothered about spec though...
-
• #4
You find anything?
-
• #5
Not yet. Its tricky finding something with a short-ish TT but enough stack height.
-
• #6
Yeah same. I’ve found genesis to be quite decent in reach for the gf. Equilibrium and the like. Pinnacle wasn’t too bad either.
-
• #7
I might have a small CdF frameset going spare if anyone is interested ...

I've got a small 52 cm kinesis pro 6 that I've recently winterised that i could manage without. I'd be after £600 though as the freshen up cost me £200. TT meant to be 53.5 virtual though and the stack is super low. I can measure up and list full spec if interested?

I don't want to step on @letog feet, so no dibs, but can you get us some pics please?
@Retro_bastard Bit too aggressive for what I'm looking for.
-
• #11
Yeah the front end is pretty low and I've got long legs so all that seatpost I'm running does make it look extra aggressive
-
• #12
Could definitely be interested, yep.
-

Cheers for posting. Looking for something a little more towards the 'endurance' end of the spectrum, I think.
-
• #14
There's no such thing as an endurance bike only endurance legs 😉

Aha agreed. I'll pass that on.
She's on an old Nigel Dean mixte touring bike with a laughably tall stem and flat/swept bars at the moment, so trying not to scare her too much with an aggressive front end
-
• #16
Fair enough I've just measured the flats of bars to floor drop out of curiosity on the kinesis and its 90cm which is definitely racey vs my wife's hybrid at 96cm which looking at them next to each other is much more sensible. Good luck with the hunt

• #17
If the Nigel Dean is up sells then my friend might be interested... feel free to PM me :)
-

Aha no chance I'm afraid. It's a bit nice.
Tbh I wanted to turn it into a drop bar gravel steed (there's loads of tyre clearance etc), but she likes it for pootling around town on.
-
• #19
I don't suppose you have the front wheel axle to centre of stem/ bar clamp dimension to hand, as its currently set up?
Edit: don't worry, just checked the geo charts again. Looking for something about 30-40mm taller at the front end.

also, surly's are looooooooong ... but saw this:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Surly-Pacer-Steel-Road-Bike-2017-Petite-Women-42cm-Disco-Tomato/293726385811?hash=item446374f693:g:9T0AAOSw0GlfV7lRmy frame is a lot less aggro tho

Noticed that. Thanks for sharing, though. A bit too tiny methinks.
Wondering whether a Tour De Fer is a bit over-built for what it'll be used for.
-
• #22
Its only 54.5 cm the stem is on neg and flipping it will probably only add half what your after.
-
• #23
No worries. Thanks for the offer, anyway!
-
• #24
It's just a cdf with a more forgiving geo
-
• #25
Longer stays etc too, I see.
Is it the 725 version? Some pics would be useful, if poss.
Edit: Just saw your private message. Thanks!
I'm looking for a #gravel steed for a friend. She's 5'4", so a 51 / 52 / 53cm, S or XS (depending on geometry) please.
Clearance for 35mm tyres, mudguard eyelets, preferably discs (but not completely necessary). Condition not too important; fit is.
Thinking along the lines of Pinnacle Arkose, Genesis Croix de Fer, Ribble CGR.... the usual suspects. Bonus points for a 'nice colour'.
Budget is around £500. Could possibly convince her to go a little higher for the right bike.
What's about?
